The accretions of oil on canvas correspond to a personal unfolding of self as layer is structured, destroyed, reorganized and ultimately represents my present sentiments. I use color, light, weight and attitude that reflect the mystery of changing meanings in a world anchored in primeval forms and timeless substances. For me, all life is related, the personal to the political, the particular to the universal, the earthly to the divine. Many of the forms I create are architectonic and spiritual in nature and do not yield to a single interpretation. Sheri Skeahan
