Elder Gallery

Elder Gallery represents over fifty American artists and a small number of European artists. We offer a wide variety of styles, media and subject matter and host several exhibitions throughout the year to showcase our artists. We are the exclusive representative for the collections of Leon A. Makielski (1885-1974) and Ernest Walker (1892 -1991).

In addition to paintings, Elder Gallery represents a number of three-dimensional artists who produce exquisite sculptures made of bronze, steel, and stone, and earthenware. Our artists have been recognized for excellence by prestigious art publications, national organizations and exhibitions.

We operate two separate galleries on the same property in Charlotte’s Historic SouthEnd District. Our main gallery is used to host monthly exhibitions while Elder Annex Gallery continuously exhibits work from our stable of artists.

Throughout the year we offer a wide variety of exhibitions to showcase a number of our artists as well as special group shows which introduce new talent through our gallery. Additional information on these shows as well as other events can be found as they happen throughout the year under “Current Show” on our website.

Elder Gallery is committed to presenting the finest quality and widest selection of original artwork. Our goal is to provide exceptional artwork in a variety of styles with fair and reasonable price points. Our gallery is dedicated to assisting the new collector as well as corporate and experienced private collectors.

We strive to offer a welcoming and comfortable environment that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. We welcome children to visit the gallery with their parents to experience the excitement that our artists have created through their work.

Operating hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and by appointment on Mondays.
