My current work reflects a love of the landscape in its seasonal changesThese paintings join the historical context of landscape painters such as George Inness and John Singer Sargent, yet they represent a contemporary look at nature and a universal attraction to its wild beauty. The subject of human response to nature holds a collective appeal. The works illustrate current conditions and the vitality of the landscape. I am intrigued by the mind’s image of nature and the associations, memories and reflections that image invokes. I am also aware of the restorative and meditative qualities nature provides for me.
